What was this for?
The Nike Maxim Awards is an event the company puts on for its employees to celebrate sports and the achievements they have made. As said on their website: "The day culminated in the company’s Global Maxims Awards Show, honoring the teams that moved its business, brands and purpose forward during the past year".
What did I do?
For the 2022 show I helped my team come up with ideas for how the given assets and information would be displayed and animated. I took ownership of the "house looks" which were the looping backgrounds for the screens when nothing was on display. I designed a light and dark look for variety.
For the 2023 show I helped my team explore branding following the style guide given by the client. I was given ownership of the category cards and the lower thirds that would appear on the stage screen.
2022
Here For the 2022 Maxim Awards my role was to make the looping animations for the 3 screens in-between segments. I took the hand drawn elements and randomized the animation in a fun and spontaneous way.
Process
I was given some hand drawn elements and I used those to create animated loops to play on the screen. I used those loops to make a dark and light background that would play on the screen. Below are some tests of what it would look like on the stage and the full strip of animation.
2023
for the 2023 stage I designed and animated the lower thirds and category cards. Here are some examples:
